Title Research: Art of the Title Website

I am looking at the website to learn. In order to make a good opening sequence I first need to learn about what is inserted into one. How one is created. And what goes into that process. At first when I began to look at the sight I was overwhelmed. This is because I clicked title sequences and a plethora of movie title sequences showed up to choose from. Eventually I began to click the ones I was interested in and watched the openings. After watching the openings, I would scroll down and read the interview and credits. While reading I learned that there is a lot that goes into creating a title sequence. I always thought that it was a relatively simple process but I was wrong. They have to deal with the technical side such as the type, texturizing it, and animating it. While also dealing with the film side by establishing what should be seen in the title sequence as the type is shown. I have learned that in order to make this a success the director and the people who work on the type must come together and discuss ideas before and during the creation. From the interviews I read some professionals mention Adobe and Maya as a big help to their title sequence. While others focus more on what is shown in the scenes of the title sequences rather than the technical side. Before this I never realized how elaborate a title sequence can be. That's because they seem to fly by so quickly in the film that you never even notice. I will be sure to look through this site more in the future. It provides good insight. But for now I will go explore the next.
