CCR: The Homework Plan

Image
This is my CCR for my Final Task: The Homework Plan. My goal was to keep it casual and simple so I broke it up into different videos. Hope you enjoy. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? ? How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? How did your production skills develop throughout the project? How did you integrate technologies-- software, hardware, and online-- in this project? social gr oups or issues?

I have been working on the last tidbit of editing. An obstacle occurred when my editing software crashed. It refused to reopen so I had to seek other means of regaining the work I had already done. I had to completely switch over to a different computer and relocate my footage in order to begin editing again. Since the names of the files were different on each computer I had to refer back to the files on the first one in order to decide which one needed to be added into the locate asset slot on my reopened editing software. Some files were created while in the software. Due to this, when saved they were not compatible for opening on the other computer. Ultimately I had to recreate them. However, that took little time so I quickly was back at the point I had planned to continue from. All of them were strictly audio anyway. However, the software I am using got rid of a portion of the music I was using. Due to this I had to add it twice to make up for the lack of length that it once had.

I am still editing my project. I have decided to add the audio and then the clips one at a time. I adjusted it to fit the time constraints. I have also begun to add titles. One thing I noticed is that the titles can sometimes make the background of the scene seem unfocused. I have been searching for a way to remedy that, but have yet to find a solution. I also have been trying to evaluate the timing of the editing. I want to make sure it does not seem super choppy or rushed. After making adjustments to the effects, I watch what I have. Then I continue to make adjustments. Spacing plays a huge part in this. If I am relying simply on cuts then spacing is what determines whether the cut is a blink or an extended black screen. If I add transitions such as a fade or dissolve, it adds time to the project. So I have been trying to minimize the usage of these unless I feel they are absolutely necessary. An aspect of viewing and putting together the clips that I noticed is that I am able to lo

So far I have continued editing.  After adding more clips I continued to do what I was previously doing. Minimizing the length through various means. In some cases I cut the clips. In other cases I used effects such as speed to change the length of the clips. I also learned a new way to transport media to my computer. The editor I am using has the option to transfer it from phone to computer without connecting a cord between the two. All I had to do was go to the url they gave me and type in a code. Then I choose what media from my phone I wish to transfer. This process is much easier step-wise compared to the one I was using. However, it takes more time as loading the media takes longer than 5-10 minutes. Because of this I only attempt to use it as a second resort rather than a first. I usually compose an email to myself containing the media while on my phone. I then open my email using a computer and download the media to it. Then I upload the media into my editor, which takes about

I began uploading clips into my online editing software. Originally I was going to use another editing software, but it was strictly mobile. So I decided to save myself the eye strain and go with another I had used before. I usually flip flop between the two depending on the project. I decided to work by uploading the clips in three parts and then adjusting their length before uploading more. This is so I can set a pace instead of trying to fix everything at once. Also so I can work out the full time stamp needed. Then build off of it however I would like. I adjusted the lengths with transitions in mind. Adding transitions increases the length of the video. For this reason I limited my clips to ten seconds a piece maximum. Those that were higher were cut down, and those that were lower I used the remainder of the ten to account for transitions. After more refinement my ultimate goal is to have a finished product within the right timeframe that has good pacing and editing. Even as I am

Today I went over the footage that I have. Since all of the shots had more than one take I wanted to thoroughly analyze each one on their own. First I looked at each take separately. Then I looked at each take when compared to the others. After choosing the ones I personally felt were the best I went to my family to ask their opinion. After hearing what they had to say, I then went to a few of my peers to ask their thoughts. My plan was to obtain feedback in order to make a good decision on which takes I should upload into the editor. Since uploading the footage to the computer can be quite the process I wanted to be sure I would not have to go back and replace any clips with another. I figure if that were to happen it would make editing more tedious. After doing this I then proceeded to search alternative music options, as my attempts to get into contact with the artist of the music I originally wanted to use did not go as planned. Through searching I found this online site called au
