CCR: Music Video

My final product uses conventions by sort of sticking to the scenic route. Which is the path that indie music videos sometimes take. I kept it simple as well, but also included close ups which are common. I attempted to edit as if the viewer was inside of the video rather than simply viewing. Looking back I am not 100% confident that it turned out as amazing as I had hoped, but nevertheless I am proud of my work. The product challenged conventions in the sense that it did not include shots of a live performance or tell a developed story. It represents those who like the artist or the genre of indie music by taking elements from beloved music videos and implementing them into my own. However, it does not sufficiently represent any social issues. My video engages with audiences by attempting to immerse them through audio and visual stimulation. It engages with them as an attempt at art for both the eyes and the ears. It would be distributed as a real media text through social media apps or sites such as YouTube, Instagram, and/or Facebook among others. Looking back over the course of the project my production skills have developed when it comes to editing and prepping. Before this project I could not soundly edit audio without making minor mistakes such as deleting the wrong portion or using the wrong effect and I also did less in depth prepping before jumping into making a final product. In fact, I would say that I focused more on the prepping and editing with this project than I have on any other. I think this ultimately helped me improve. I integrated software technologies by using a mobile phone editor to edit my video and add effects. Hardware technology such as a mouse, keyboard, and screen were used to do research for and eventually export my video. Online search engines and sites were used in order to help learn more about editing, the indie genre, and the artist of the song used in the video. All of these elements combined allowed me to create my project and then share it. I am positive that they will do so again in the future.
